Smiley Face
Excerpts from Therapy Dog’s Session Notes:
Patient exhibits a great smile – continuously! This smiling poker face, however, seems to mask a complete lack of normal sentience in spite of sophisticated language. Openly cheerful but unwilling to share or express deeper feelings; emotional range runs gleeful gamut from glad to overjoyed, rapturous, euphoric, ecstatic to “tickled pink” (yellow in this case). Favorite song, naturally, is “Smile”, though patient was unaware of the opening lyric. Contrast between sunny disposition and blank fish-eye stare suggests inner void. Will work toward more balanced outlook.
Note for research: Patient’s apparent lack of any sort of emotional or cognitive state gives credence to “ignorance is bliss” theory.
